T-Rex chase woodblock

“T-Rex chase woodblock” by Dr.Monekers

This artwork reimagines the famous Tyrannosaurus Rex chase from Jurassic Park through the lens of traditional Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock prints. A massive T-Rex stomps out of a dense forest of towering redwood trees to pursue the iconic red and grey Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler, while two characters styled after classical Japanese figures look back from the vehicle in sheer panic. The vertical calligraphy column in the upper right translates to: “Tyrannosaurus was a large carnivorous dinosaur belonging to the large theropod group that lived on the North American continent approximately 66 million years ago. It is also referred to by other names, such as Tyrannosaurus rex or Tyrannosaurus stan.” Concluding the authentic aesthetic, a red circular stamp in the bottom right corner features a stylized dinosaur skull alongside the text “Jurassic Park” written in Japanese characters (侏羅紀公園).
