Casper came from a rich and powerful family, which got him the nickname “Richie Rich”. In the winter of 1936, he was kidnapped by three mobsters who planned to ransom him. A high-speed police chase ensued. The mobsters lost control of their vehicle and it flew off a bridge. No bodies were recovered.
That’s why Casper the Ghost is stuck with those three unsavory characters.
