Rummaging in my grandfather's attic last weekend, I found an old trunk (that apparently had belonged to HIS grandfather) marked "Science Expedition - 1861". Inside, along with a wild assortment of outdated (and rather questionable) scientific instruments, was a selection of notes and illustrations, most of which had disintegrated with age. This diagram, showing the strata of the earth, was the only surviving document of their expedition.

How Many Licks?
Comrades! Too long have we stood idly by while the greedy western capitalist has taken what does not belong to her: invading our homes, using our furniture, and stealing food from our children! Today we rise up! Today we FIGHT!

If bustin' makes you feel good, then you're sure to appreciate this design featuring the Founding Fathers of paranormal investigation; their likenesses carved in stone and immortalized for all time. Four men who dedicated their lives to life, liberty and the pursuit of generous research grants with hazily defined objectives. Oh, and to keeping their city safe. Erected in 1984, this National Hysterical Monument celebrates the accomplishments of those four brave souls who banded together and stood up for the oppressed, the downtrodden and the scared by waging war against the ghosts, demons, bureaucrats and oversized marshmallow mascots that afflicted them.

An all-new version of one of my most popular designs, this is a celebration of the incredibly iconic vehicles of 80's pop culture and features some of my favorites from a wide swathe of movies and television shows. While I couldn't include everything of course, hopefully this still captures the awesomeness of the era. Then its eventual downfall. Then how it has been broken down, parted out, recycled and presented to us again as something new that often barely resembles the initial version. So cheers to the originals, may their memory never fade! (How many can *you* name?)

A commentary on the things that large powerful organizations try to take away, and how we independents hold on even tighter to the things that are most important. The show may be over, but the characters live on. You can't take this guy from me.

Behold! A recently discovered artifact from the historic '80 Hoth Winter Games - that celebrated event, when for a brief moment in time, athletes from throughout the galaxy were able to put aside their political ideologies and compete as equals in the greatest test of strength, talent and pure will ever devised. This vintage garment pays tribute to those celebrated games that caught the attention of the entire galaxy, bringing with them a new hope for so many.

Hoth Winter Games
Why is it that we can't quit those who hurt us? It's as though, somehow, we NEED that pain to feel alive. No matter how often they lie, we always always want to believe that the next time they'll tell the truth. That perhaps, just this once, there really WILL be cake. But even if not this time, the continued hope for the future makes us crave every deception, as each one brings us closer to that time when it can and will and must finally be true. Inspired by the "Portal" mythos and vintage tattoo illustrations.

Lie To Me
As with so many people, video games have been a major contributing medium of my cultural education since as far back as I can recall. One of my earliest memories is actually being four years old and pushing a stepstool up to a video game cabinet so I could play Q-Bert (for about 12 seconds). For this design, I wanted to highlight some of the most awesome 'weapons' from the history of video games including some of my personal favorites (but less obvious ones) like the Arkanoid paddle, the line piece from Tetris and the Katamari.

With his penchant for flashy clothes and attractive assistants, his commanding personality and flair for the dramatic (not to mention his magic box and 'sonic' wand) can anyone doubt that the man we only know as The Doctor is the most spectacular magician in all of space and time? From slight of hand to reading minds, from defying death to making his entire home planet simply *disappear*, none can question the awesome ethereal powers that he harnesses for his spectacular shows!

Playing thing goes in. Playing thing goes out. The Portal games are among my all-time favorite video games. A cool game mechanic, awesome problem solving and arguably the best video game dialog and scripting EVER, all rolled up into one amazingly fun experience. If you haven't played them yet, I can't recommend them enough.

I like to think that every fully-realized fantasy world has its own artists, and if so they probably also have their own version of street art. Ideas naturally bleed through various realities, so it's fun to think that a graffiti artist in the world of The Princess Bride might create an image using the giant Fezzik as a symbol of power, much in the same way that Shepard Fairey used Andre the Giant.

Fort Kickass
Inspired by the classic Han Solo quote - Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid. - this design collects famous guns, blasters, disintigrators, rayguns and pulse pistols from 26 different movies and television shows (with a limit of just one weapon per franchise). Several of these created universes have a wealth of awesome weaponry so I've done my best to choose what I felt was the most iconic single weapon from each one.
